162 Bar-registered firms across 18 towns handle this in Malaysia. Conveyancing is the transfer of legal title to property. In Malaysia every sale and purchase agreement must be handled by an advocate & solicitor, and the instrument of transfer (Form 14A) stamped with the Inland Revenue Board before it can be registered at the land office. Firms below across Malaysia handle property transfers, SPAs, loan documentation and stamping.

Legal fees follow the statutory scale in the Solicitors' Remuneration Order 2023.

Common questions

How long does a conveyancing matter take in Malaysia?

A freehold transfer typically completes in three to four months. Leasehold titles need state consent, which usually adds six to twelve weeks.

Are conveyancing legal fees fixed in Malaysia?

Yes. They follow the statutory scale in the Solicitors' Remuneration Order 2023, so firms cannot undercut each other on the scale fee. On a RM500,000 property the SPA fee is about RM5,000.

Do I need to use a lawyer near the property?

A local firm is often faster for dealings at the relevant state land office, but any advocate & solicitor on the Malaysian Bar's roll can act. Every firm listed here is Bar-registered.
